St. Mamas, Soli and the Palace of Vouni
An amazing trip into the ancient, byzantine and medieval history of the western part of our island. During the bus ride you will have the opportunity to learn about Soli, one of the ten kingdoms of Cyprus, the struggles against Persian Rule (the Palace of Vouni, the Roman history (the theatre) and of course the excavations of the Swedes in 1928 in the area. But most of all you will hear about the Byzantine period and the Arab raids and their importance while visiting the church of Agios Mamas in Morphou and the basilica of St. Auxivios in Soli.
