Discovering Famagusta Sunday 23 February
An unforgettable trip to the cultural wealth of Byzantine, Medieval and Ottoman Famagusta. Throughout the bus journey (one hour) we will be talking about the history of this amazing city and its port and a map of the walled city will be given out to you. The bus will drop us off at the Land Gate and we start the walk from the Ravelin, to St. George Exorinos, St. Anne, the Carmelite and the Armenian Church, the Martinengo Bastion, Keltikli Hamam, St. George of the Latins and Othello Tower. An hour’s break follows and we then visit the inner part of the city, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Palace, St. Peter and Paul, and the Orthodox metropolis of St. George of the Greeks as well as the Orthodox quarter of the city.
Meeting place: Parking space of the University of Nicosia where the bus awaits
Price: 30€ per person (including the entrance ticket to one of the monuments)
